Welcome
It is a great pleasure to invite you to attend the IUPAC 39th International Conference on Solution Chemistry which will be held for the first time in Africa in Monastir town, Tunisia, from 14-17 September 2025 under the joint auspices of international steering committee of the ICSC, International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), Tunisian Chemical Society (TCS) as co-organizer, and the University of Monastir.
International Conferences on Solution Chemistry (ICSC) organized every two years in different countries over the world, have always brought together chemists (professors, researchers, engineers and doctoral students) of different nationalities to discuss up-to-date fundamentals innovations and new technologies and applications related to physicochemical processes in solution chemistry governed by solvent-solute and solute-solute interactions in liquid phase.
Tunisia will amaze you with the natural beauty of its landscapes, in particular the blue of its sky, the greenery of its mountains, its large fields of citrus fruits and olive trees, its beautiful oases and palm groves, the shine of its silvery beaches, its multicolored salt lakes and the undulations of its Saharan dunes, etc.
It will impress you with its rich history old of 30 centuries and its cultural diversity issued from heritage of Caspian, Phoenician, Roman, Christian, Berber and Islamic civilizations, and above all by the hospitality of its citizens.
On the cultural and scientific level, Tunisia has given rise to three Nobel Prizes. The first one was attributed in 1928 to Charles Nicolle, Director of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis, received "for his work on the typhus." The second is the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize and third is the 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to the Tunisian-French-American Prof. Mongi BAWENDI for his research on "Nano-boxes or quantum dots: QDs".
On the other hand, some Tunisian Universities are ranked among the top thousands.
39th ICSC 2025 will be held in one of the foremost lovely coastal touristic region of Tunisia, the region of Sahel especially Monastir (Ruspina) which is an important both university and touristic City, rigorously secure.
We look forward to meeting you at ICSC 2025, in Monastir.

Monastir in a few words
Monastir, located 160 km south of Tunis, is a beautiful seaside resort with vast stretches of sand and rocks. The city has a rich history, having been occupied by various dynasties, including the Phenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Spaniards, and Ottoman Turks. The city's Ribat, designed in 796, is a fortress made from a superposition of fortified buildings. Visitors can explore the medina, which features famous old doors like Bab el Gharbi, Bab Tunis, and Bab Brichka. The Sahel region, between the coast and interior, is rich in Tunisian heritage, including archaeological sites like Lamta and El Jem, and its famous coliseum hosting an international classical music festival. Monastir is easily connected to the surrounding area, particularly Sousse, via buses, rental cars, cabs, and the metro.
